Mission Statement:
The Youth Community Agency Macomb: Job Clinic + Resource Center is dedicated to empowering youth aged 16-24, including teen moms and families facing financial challenges, by providing essential career development, educational opportunities, and resource support. Our mission is to break down barriers to success, offering tailored services such as resume building, interview preparation, career counseling, and access to vital community resources. Through collaboration, compassion, and comprehensive support, we strive to equip young individuals with the tools and confidence they need to achieve economic stability, personal growth, and a brighter future.
History:
Founded in November 2023, Youth Community Agency Macomb: Job Clinic + Resource Center (YCAM) emerged from a pressing need to address the career and resource gaps faced by youth, teen moms, and low-income families in Macomb County and surrounding areas. Recognizing the challenges these groups face—including limited access to education, employment opportunities, and essential support services—YCAM was established as a safe and empowering space where young individuals could access the tools, resources, and guidance needed to thrive.
From its inception, YCAM has been committed to serving as both a career development hub and a resource center, offering services such as resume building, job search strategies, career counseling, child care assistance, housing support, maternal healthcare services, mental health resources, and postpartum support.
In January 2025, YCAM is set to accept client referrals for our new clothing closet for Moms in need of interview clothes and In February 2025, will expand its impact through an exciting partnership with the Queens Small Business and Career Academy and the Pray Hustle Slay Institute. This collaboration will introduce career development, entrepreneurship programs, and essential skills training, positioning YCAM as a leading force in preparing youth for sustainable career pathways and entrepreneurial success.
Driven by a vision of equity, inclusion, and opportunity, YCAM continues to grow as a beacon of hope and empowerment, committed to transforming lives and building a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come.
